Wendy is available for author visits (distance allowing). Her rates are standard ASA (Australian Society of Author) rates, plus GST. A full day is 3 to 4 sessions of 45 minutes to 1 hour. Ages are Pre-primary to year 7. Attendance up to 90 per class. Visits entail a show and tell of Wendy’s other art (pottery, paintings, magnets, cards), and the process of making a pot, including a video of Wendy throwing a bowl on the potter’s wheel. She shows an emu egg and feathers and talks about Australian animals while she draws quick drawings on an easel. She talks about the process of producing a book and shows a video of “Scrambled egg” being printed. The talks are quite diverse, using several types of media, so appeal to a variety of groups. Activity pages and a sticker are given to each student, plus the easel drawings for the classroom.
